The 'R' Word
Happy New Year! After a brief hiatus for the holidays, we are back stronger
Along with good tidings, during the holidays, and embarking on the New Year', comes resolutions, goals, 'to do-s', and 'not to do-s'. It is usually the same song every year, just with a different verse (sometimes).
What if we expand our vocabulary this year with 'Revelation'? We seek to know, to understand, and to meditate on God's word. To gain a better understanding to what God has in store for us. Normally, we face the book of 'Revelations' somewhat with fear and trepidation, but that is because we fear the unknown or even the known. Because, after all - we do know who wins in the end.
In the meantime, commit to something new this year. Lean to the Lord with all your heart, all your mind, and all of your soul, and expect good things as a result. After all, he says we have not because we ask not, or....'we ask amiss.'
God knows exactly what we need because He's all-knowing.What if in 2017, instead of fearing the unknown, we can trust Him to supply all our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. He may not respond in 'our time', but he will be on time.
If you are having trouble deciding what you desire this year from yourself, and from the Lord, take a break, or a fast. The Daniel Plan would be a great time for you to sacrifice, forfeit, and re-commit, so you can maybe gain a greater understanding into what God may have for you in 2017. After continuing with their particular diet during three years of training, Daniel and his group were judged by the king to be mentally superior.
Don't want to go it alone? You don't have to. New Hope Baptist Church has already started. Can't do 21 days? You don't have to. What about 10 days or even 3 days?
Pray for your revelation, and expect a rejuvination.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
