Building Each Other Up
Audio Visual Department Ministry
The purpose of the ministry is to provide high quality sound and visual aids for the multitude of events held at New Hope Baptist Church (NHBC). These events include essentially every activity held at NHBC, whether it’s a New Hope sponsored activity or an event where the facility is being rented out and Audio Visual support is required. The Audio Visual Ministry provide sound and supports all of the normal weekly activities to include Sunday Service, any NHBC annual Special events; and any community events hosted at NHBC.
Board of Deacons
The Ordained Deacons are the spiritual leaders of New Hope Baptist Church. From a historical perspective, the Office of the Deacon was created to fill a void in the Church. The congregation needs to be served and the Pastor generally does not have enough time to look after all the spiritual and physical needs of the entire Church. That need for service and support of the Pastor still reigns true today at New Hope Baptist Church through the management of the Deacons’ Shepard’s Plan. Each Deacon is assigned to serve the spiritual needs of an appropriate number of members of the congregation at all times. Thus the Deacons of New Hope Baptist Church are charged to be servants of the people, and therefore look after their needs.
More specifically, Deacons serve God by conducting the caring ministry of the Church by executing the benevolence work, visiting the sick and shut-in, paying attention to the spiritual needs of the congregation, freeing the Pastor and Associate Ministers to focus on ministry of the Word and spread of the Gospel throughout the Church and community at large. 1 Timothy 3, verses 8-13 is crystal clear on the qualifications and expectations of the office of the Deacon.
Church Announcements are critically important in the life of the New Hope community. They are the window into the heart of our church and they give our members and guests a sense of what is happening and what is important to us.
So when you craft your message remember these simple tips…
Please submit your announcements to the church office by noon Wednesday for inclusion in the upcoming Sunday’s New Hope Informer. Please note that all Special Announcements for Sunday morning need prior approval.
The role of the Deaconess is biblical as found in Romans 16:1-2. The majority of the early churches had women who served and were called Deaconesses. Phoebe was the first deaconess named in the bible.
At New Hope Baptist Church, one of the primary duties of the Deaconess Board is to serve the church family by preparing communion to be served to the congregation by the Deacons. This typically consists of the two regularly scheduled Church services held on the first Sunday of every month.
The Deaconesses also assist in contacting all candidates for baptism, and ensures they are fully prepared for this special day in their life. The candidates are advised as to what clothing supplies to bring on the day of baptism; the Deaconesses assist all female candidates with their baptismal gowns, swim caps, socks and towels and any other needs to ensure they are ready for this baptismal experience and their new walk with Christ. Additionally, the Deaconesses gather contact information and follows up with the members inviting them to attend the first Sunday service for the right hand of fellowship and communion service.
The Deaconesses' role is to pray for and/or visit the sick and shut-in; to provide meals when necessary and to show love and compassion for the New Hope family and community at large. The Deaconess are appointed by the Pastor or they are the wife of a New Hope Baptist Church Deacon.
The Hopeline Ministry is charged with welcoming new members when they join New Hope Baptist Church during any worship service and assisting the new members with completing the New Hope Baptist Church Request For Membership Form. In that initial meeting, the Hopeline Ministry provides a NHBC orientation packet, pray with our new members, and addresses any immediate needs that may be identified.
The first contact with new members will be made by a member of the Hopeline Ministry within the first week. The primary goal is to help the new members feel welcomed and to become successfully integrated into the New Hope Baptist Church family; following up regarding baptism for all new members except children aged 12 and younger, along with the Deaconess Board and the Office Staff. If the new member is a child, their parents will be contacted by the Deacons who teach the Children’s Baptismal Class. The members of the Hopeline Ministry will also contact new members regarding attending the New Members’ Training Class, Fellowship, and Brunch as well as receiving the Right Hand of Fellowship.
The New Members’ Training Class and Fellowship is generally held on a Saturday morning. The Pastor serves as the instructor for the training class--titled “What We Believe as Baptists.” Each new member is assigned a Deacon under New Hope Baptist Church Shepherd’s Plan. The Hopeline mission is to assist, as appropriate, new Christians to become stabilized in their faith by encouraging them to attend worship services, Bible study, workshops, join auxiliaries of the church, as well as assist with providing information on any other areas of interest.
Men of Purpose
The Men of Purpose was formed as an active ministry for men. Grow men to take full responsibility for themselves, their relationship with God, their family and community, build a consistent and faithful walk with Christ. We desire to provide each man with an opportunity to establish a relationship with God. We want to focus on making God’s man self-sufficient in studying and applying God’s word in their daily lives.
Men of Purpose Activities are conducted throughout the calendar year.
Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
The Ministerial Staff at New Hope serves toward achievement of the vision of the pastor by assisting with his care for the congregation, reaching into the community, supporting discipleship and fellowship for all ages, supporting ministries of evangelism, and serving in worship . The ministerial staff is undergirded by an annual 11 month ministerial training and accountability program in the example of 2Kings 6:1-4 “Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us (to meet)”.
The Ministerial Staff of New Hope operates by the example of Christ who in Mark 10:45 said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...”
“Need Prayer” then the Wednesday evening Prayer Band is for you! Every Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., in the MC Williams Chapel you’re invited to share your prayer requests, for your friends, for your family members, for members of the congregation or others. We also share testimonies about the goodness of the Lord in our daily lives.
Each week a different New Hope Baptist Church auxiliary leads the service. It’s a great opportunity to learn about an organization of the church while taking part in a fellowship with others focused on prayer.
Come to prayer service…say a prayer, read a scripture, give a testimony or just be part of the fellowship, we’d love to have you.
Senior / Junior Usher Board
Senior Usher Board
Our mission is in alignment with The National United Church Ushers Association of America, Inc. (NUCUAA). As an organization within New Hope Baptist Church, our purpose is to promote Senior and Junior Church Ushering to serve the congregation and the greater Denver community. We strive to stimulate interest in Church Ushering and to promote growth through the development and implementation of innovative programs; and to raise the spiritual, moral and social awareness of the Ushers serving on the Board.
The Ministry of Church Ushering is a sacred and powerful responsibility. In order to carry out the duties and responsibilities of Church Ushering, a Church Usher must first and foremost be a Christian and well-trained in all aspects of the techniques of Church Ushering.
As Church Ushers serving in the house of God's Holy Temple, we must demonstrate and consistently display a special gift—"TACT" which is the ability to speak and do the right things when facing tough situations while ushering. TACT requires you as a Church Usher to put yourself in another person's place and think prayerfully about the circumstances or event and solve it reverently.

Junior Usher Board
The New Hope Baptist Church Youth Usher Board can be one of your first Christian and Godly experiences filled with the promise of dedicating one’s life to Christ at an early age. The Youth Usher Board enjoys their fellowship with each other throughout the year by attending various spiritual and social events throughout the year and are constantly recognized and encouraged by the Senior Usher Board for the job they do for the New Hope Baptist Church. They continue to advance and grow towards becoming young adult Ushers and eventually Senior Ushers in God's house.
King Solomon says in Proverbs 16:24, "Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones".
Women of Hope
The purpose of the Women of Hope Ministry is to connect Christian Women in a motivating, encouraging and nurturing environment that strengthens our walk in faith.
The Women of Hope Ministry began in March 2001 and we as women have been striving to be used as His instruments to communicate His message of faith, hope, and love. This ministry is inclusive of all women across generations from ages 18 and above as well as reaching out to our female youth. God has blessed this ministry with a cross-generation of women who are willing to serve and to create a nurturing environment where we can grow stronger in our faith. The Women of Hope celebrate Mother’s Day with an annual prayer breakfast, and provide an educational or healthcare summit in August of each year; we have a Fall Prayer Breakfast, and we have a “helping hand” ministry that prepares Thanksgiving baskets. We are blessed to be able to partner with the Missionary Society, the Men of Purpose, the Health Ministry, and other auxiliaries and organizations within the church to provide other spiritual, educational, and service activities. Our motto is “Share Your Faith!”
The inspiration for the Women of Hope Ministry came from a number of scriptural references which touched our hearts and called us to action: Hebrews 11:1, 7; Hebrews 6:11, 18-19; 1 Corinthians 13:13; and 2 Corinthians 3:2.
Psalms 30:5 - NIV
This ministry serves those church members who are either home or in nursing homes, and unable to attend church on a regular basis, or at all because of an illness or disability.
The co chairs of this ministry and other New Hope church family members serve these church members by visiting them at their places of residence, hosting an annual potluck and arranging transportation for them to attend, participating at annual nursing home Christmas celebrations to share in the spirit of Jesus being the reason for the season, delivering poinsettias to them during this holiday, and hospital visits.
Moreover, this ministry is available to support our members in small ways, such as a trip to the grocery store, or a small chore at home that the members are unable to perform themselves.
